C3: Aryan

“Hello brother, what are you doing?” came a loud cheery voice through the phone. I sighed hearing her excitement.

“I am fine Aaru. What are you doing? How’s that project coming?” I asked, loosening my tie, as I sank into the couch.

“That’s fine A. Just small technical glitches, that’s all. I shall complete that and submit it in about a week.”

“Fine. If you need any help let me know.” I rubbed my head feeling the pressure of the workload.

“What are you going to help me with? You are into business and management, stay there, as if you can solve the coding problems and all.” Sarcasm rolled from her mouth as she took a dig at my work and her studies. I rolled my eyes, getting used to her snarky retorts. “And don’t roll your eyes at me.” She added, making me repeat that again.

“Oh A, did you read that case about Meera?” All my senses and every part of my body came onto alert hearing that name. Meera.

“What case? And who is Meera?” I asked, trying to act oblivious to the fact that I met a woman named Meera today. I knew well that if my sister knew that I met someone, I would never hear the end of it.

“Offo A. I keep telling you about a woman right, a case I kept following for almost 2 years now. Meera Kashyap, the married woman who was falsely accused and blamed.” I hummed trying to remember any such person or news. “A?”

“Yeah, what about her?”

“She finally got her freedom. She was innocent all along. I was so right about her, and now that she is free, I am so happy.” I sighed. Why is she getting excited for something like this? “A? You know what I am sending you her whole story and you are going to read it now. And I will ask you questions tomorrow when I call. Bubye.” Saying so, she cut the call. This girl shall be the death of me. My phone pinged with a notification and I opened the message, only to be taken off guard by the thumbnail on the link.

It was the same woman I met this morning.
